Generally, our office should reflect the correct ownership within 3 weeks after the recording date. However, if there is an issue with the deed, it is transferred to a records specialist for verification. If the transfer involves a parcel split, where a portion of the property is coming out of another property, you can expect a delay. Additionally, there are certain times of the year when our systems will be down for tax roll purposes, causing delays.
The legal document that changed the name, includes an order, judgment, and/or marriage license.
First, verify that your name on the deed is spelled correctly. If not, you will need to have a corrected deed from an attorney or title company. If it is correct, please contact our office. The email for that department is [email protected].
A probate order distributing the property, generally found in the Order of Summary Administration or the Order Determining Homestead. If the property is in a life estate, then a copy of the death certificate in required.
The recorded final judgment and/or recorded marital agreement attesting to this fact.
Contact a Real Estate Attorney or a Title Company to have them create a new Deed and file it with the Clerk of Courts.
